The "Self"

Last week I came to read a book titled
"CONSCIOUS IMMORTALITY".
It is a conversation with an Indian sage called "Ramana Maharshi"
(December 30, 1879 – April 14, 1950), who lived in South India
(Uranachalam, Thiruvannamalai, TamilNadu).
The man who talks with Maharshi in the book is Paul Brunton, and he travels along with Sri Ramana's teachings about self-enquiry.

The book concentrates about Ramana Maharshi's thought about
"Self", the "I" factor. Author tries to get answers for his complicated queries, but Maharshi's answers were brilliant but simple. He guide the reader's mind for the quest of "Self". According to Maharshi, Self is the supreme power.
All complicated questions, we're seeking for, just ask to the "Self", you'll never fail to get the answer.

Once you get realized the "Self", then no worries no tensions no other thoughts.

Several things sticked to me after completing the book.
How to practise the teachings in the book, or how do I start the "I" thought?
Still I'm searching a way, a way of simple life which may lit a candle in my heart.

If you felt boring reading so far this blog, please press the X button at right top corner, and go back to your happy normal life. I never mind.
Thanks for visiting my blog.

Folks, thanks for being here again.
Never think these kind of thoughts are only applicable for highly spiritual people. Normal guys like us, if tried or if practiced hardly, we could make a difference in our life.
But how? Thats the tough question.
Just try our own methods, read books elaborately and practice with out bothering about the final result.
Yoga, praanayama, other sort of meditations are the primary paths for the thought or quest about "Self".
Always have a CHINTHA about, "Who Am I?".

Now consider about ourself, always we're immersed in unwanted worries and tensions. I agree that we couldn't get rid of those tensions completely. But atleast we could control 'em, avoid a few of 'em.

Just relax and think,
"What all things you need in your life?
What all things you don't need?"

Our mind is behind conquering everything he see with his eyes.
This has to be changed, have a clear idea about how our life should be.
Love yourself, it'll be the first step to "I" factor, then try to realize the "Self".

Lets eliminate unnecessary worries, thoughts; and concentrate in yourself.
Dont bother about external world.

Listen to your heart and be aware that you're happy, enjoying the bliss of life.
Surrender completely to the supreme power you believe, but it must be an undoubtful self-surrender.
Issues may creep in our life, but believe that he will take care of everything.
You just do your "Karma" 100% and be peaceful.

Realize the "Self", enjoy the life.

Sharing some chintha.

If one looks only inside, then s/he can become selfish / introvert / aloof from society.

Striking a balance between looking outside and looking inside is the key. Equally important is to see the good in both rather than the bad; to appreciate the good in both; to condemn the bad in both; to correct the bad to good (if possible) in both inside and outside.

For that, the first thing to achieve is the knowledge to differentiate between the good and the bad. A good percentage of this knowledge is imbibed in us during our childhood by our surroundings. Parents, teachers, siblings, friends, relatives, nature. It can also be got by birth as a gift from an unseen power (which I like to refer as God). Above all, it can be practised through introspection begining from the self towards outside.

I was always amazed by the motto of a christian sect "Lighted to Lighten". But to practise it, we need a certain amount of descipline of the self. There are two things in the motto. First to get lighted by oneself. Then to share the light to our surroundings.

Another thing that amazed me is the olden times when people used to live with such harmony an peace. Nowadays people are becoming more and more lighted(do not know if this is right knid of lighting happening these days) themselves. But forgetting to light others.
